DESIGNERS > John Daina-Palermo

The woman who wears one of fashion designer John Daina-Palermo’s designs would be savvy, intelligent and truly appreciate the intricate detail and stunning fabrics of each and every one of his designs, whether she’s an artist or an architect. His customer is a lover of fine luxury, which makes Palermo a true artist of his craft.

John Daina-Palermo studied design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. One of his biggest influences in fashion design is none other than fashion designer Issey Miyake. “I’ve always liked his work. It’s a true progression of things – always evolving shape and the ascetics are just incredible,” says Palermo.

Many people are seduced by the details that Palermo uses. It’s those details and that motivation to work on interesting silhouettes and shape, including details in pleating and taking a flat shape and manipulating it in some way to have a less expensive fabric look rich in design and detail. When it comes to his designs, being detail-oriented is at the top of his list.
