Founded by designer Joanna Amelio in July 2002, Amelio specializes in custom-designed wedding gowns, headpieces, veils and jewelry. Using only natural materials, Amelio will create wedding attire that suits your style and body type. Gowns are made of 100 percent silk; accessories sparkle with sterling silver, freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals.

Amelio began designing and sewing clothes at age 15, when she made herself a dress for her high school's homecoming dance. By the time she was a senior, she was creating dresses and accessories for her friends
to wear to similar events. Amelio decided to concentrate solely on the wedding market in May 2002, when she began planning her own wedding. As she researched bridal wear, she noticed a gap in the market for well made products with simple lines...at the right cost.

Amelio launched her own line a few months later, her classic designs rooted in nature. The daughter of an artist and avid gardener, Amelio is inspired by the simple elegance of nature's shapes. For example, she uses a variety of flowers as starting points for accessories, which then can be tailored in shape and color according to each client's wishes.

Building upon this clean and simple structure, Amelio custom-designs her clients' bridal wear, from the shape of the dress to the length and fullness of the veil. Thriving on her job's creative challenges, Amelio loves working one-on-one with her clients to find the perfect styles for their wedding days. Once a bride has decided on a design, Amelio can create her gown in as little as four months, depending on the selection of fabrics. Accessories usually can be ready within two weeks.
