“We’re taking this year’s Glamorama to a whole new level,” said JoAnn Young, Glamorama executive producer. “From legendary goddess Patti Labelle to incredible designer fashions and gifted entertainers, Marshall Field’s is truly celebrating all things beautiful.”
Countless celebrities attended the glitzy Marshall Field’s Glamorama August 13th. The event is vastly becoming one of the must-attend events every year. This year icon after icon, walked the green carpet talking to press and posing for photographs, including Patti Labelle, The Commodores, Jerry Hall, Kelly Hu of the X2 and Scorpion King movies (Pictured), Bill Rancic the Apprentice, 80s icon Boy George, celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch, Ted Allen of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon of NYPD Blue and David Schwimmer of Friends were some of the many celebrities who attended the show and after party.
During the high-energy fashion show featured designers included: Matthew Williamson, Sonia Rykiel, JLo Lingerie, DSquared2, Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, John Malkovich, Uncle Kimono and Donna Karan. And, the show went out with a bang as 30 famous fashion designers, such as, Zac Posen, Stella McCartney, Jean Paul Gaultier and Yves Saint Laurent featured their one-of-a-kind red gowns for Marshall Field’s. Patricia Field, the renowned stylist from Sex in the City was on hand to style the finale. After the show, guests were allowed to bid via Yahoo! or at the famous post-party on the noteworthy designs, where the dresses were auctioned for charity, benefiting the Art Institute of Chicago.
During the show, guests enjoyed musical performances by the legendary Patti Labelle, The Commodores and Def Jam poet Karen Gibson Roc, who said she was more nervous about the press line than performing. All gave a jaw-dropping performance.
For the glamorous after party guests headed over to Marshall Field’s on State Street from the Chicago Theater. Marshall Field’s is known not to leave any stone unturned and no detail untouched. The post-party reflected a bold, surreal and sexy red paradise – where guests could indulge in drinks, fabulous cuisine and dancing the night away to Boy George as a DJ., not to mention the countless other hobnobbing and celebrity sightings that occurred.
Tickets for Glamorama ranged from $50 to $1,000.
