Gold Coast Fashion Award Show
Approximately 1,300 VIP’s attended this savvy award show,
sponsored by the Children’s Service Board, an auxiliary
of Children’s Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, September
24th, at the Chicago Hilton and Towers. With store sponsored
segments from prestigious Chicago retailers and a competition
segment, where the audience chooses the hot new designer of
the year. This year, Pamela Roland
won the Gold Coast Fashion Award with her incredible 2003/2004
Fall/Winter collection. Skimming silhouettes, cosmopolitan
combinations of brown and blacks in double-faced cashmere
coat suits and separates. Designs included menswear looks
with a feminine edge as they were paired with charmeuse blouses
and evening separates were shown in crepe, chiffon, satin
and lace.
Kevin Hall, who won the 2002 Gold Coast
Fashion Award, presented his own segment of evening wear –
juxtaposing the most luxurious textiles.
Gold Coast Fashion Award winners from previous
years include Bill Blass, Arnold Scassi, Carolyn Roehm, Pamela
Dennis, Anne Klein and Donna Karen.
Other fashion designer participants this
year include Alicia Bell, Palmer Jones, Oliver Christian Herold,
Y & Kei, Reem Acra, Lela Rose and Stephen Yearick. This
year’s retailers included: Burberry, Neiman Marcus,
Nordstrom, Marlowe, Mark Shale, Fitigues, St. John Bputique
and Frances Heffernan.
Tickets were $100. Cocktail reception included. |
