FASHION SHOWS > The 48th Annual Gold Coast Fashion Award Show

Approximately 1,300 VIP’s attended this savvy award show, sponsored by the Children’s Service Board, an auxiliary of Children’s Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, September 24th, at the Chicago Hilton and Towers. With store sponsored segments from prestigious Chicago retailers and a competition segment, where the audience chooses the hot new designer of the year.

This year, Pamela Roland won the Gold Coast Fashion Award with her incredible 2003/2004 Fall/Winter collection. Skimming silhouettes, cosmopolitan combinations of brown and blacks in double-faced cashmere coat suits and separates. Designs included menswear looks with a feminine edge as they were paired with charmeuse blouses and evening separates were shown in crepe, chiffon, satin and lace.

Kevin Hall, who won the 2002 Gold Coast Fashion Award, presented his own segment of evening wear – juxtaposing the most luxurious textiles.

Gold Coast Fashion Award winners from previous years include Bill Blass, Arnold Scassi, Carolyn Roehm, Pamela Dennis, Anne Klein and Donna Karen.

Other fashion designer participants this year include Alicia Bell, Palmer Jones, Oliver Christian Herold, Y & Kei, Reem Acra, Lela Rose and Stephen Yearick. This year’s retailers included: Burberry, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Marlowe, Mark Shale, Fitigues, St. John Bputique and Frances Heffernan.
