The "Chicago
we're red hot" fashion show featured
40 of Chicago's most prominent local fashion designers. This event
was held on April 3, 2002, at the Chicago Hilton & Towers International
Ballroom, located at 720 S. Michigan Avenue. The Apparel Industry
Board, Inc. sponsors this event to showcase Chicago fashion, raise
funds for educational scholarships and to provide national recognition
for Chicago's most talented fashion designers.
CHICago
we're RED HOT had a brilliant and
blazing opening as thirty business, civic, government and media
personalities opened the show with each wearing a red garment designed
by a particular fashion designer, which participated in the show.
"Chicago designers have individually designed red garments
for 30 prominent Chicagoans to show red hot fashion on red hot people,"
says Dorothy Fuller, event chair and AIBI president. Following the
grand opening led to the next segment of the show where 35 Chicago
designers presented garments from their fall collections. These
dynamic designers were individually inspired from many different
mediums, whether it was metals, classic lines, 40's glamour or even
latex. Chicago just may be the next hot fashion capital.
