We had the most amazing time at America's Night to Repair last night! Nationwide, Estée Lauder beauty counters gave 360,000 10-day samples of Advanced Night Repair Eye last week. You know why we love it. We've been using it for about a month now and see vast improvements in our eyes - less fine lines, not to mention our dark under eye circles from too many parties are less noticeable. When we first arrived at Macy's in the Chicago Water Tower, we were greeted by the fabulous Gigi Kane from Estée and then whisked away for our High Touch Experience. We met with Evelyn Briley, an education executive with Estée Lauder to give us a bit of background on the brand we've come to know and love...and we even learned a few things.
The founder of Estée Lauder has quite a story. She didn't start her company until she was in her 40's and had many of the trials and tribulations that we didn't have when we started our business. When she started her beauty company, it was a man's business. But Estée, being persistent like she was, sold in Saks Fifth Avenue by 1948. Back then, just as today, she looked to create innovative products just like the new Advanced Night Repair Eye. Once we were done flipping through Estée: A Success Story, it was time to get our makeup done.
We met up with Tria Thomason, a Team Capitan Makeup Artist who travels all over Chicago for Estée Lauder. We decided on a night look since we always love to change it up for the many events we go to. She also did a test with Advanced Night Repair so we could see just how it works by keeping moisture in your skin. She rubbed the product on one of our hands and sprayed it with water and then put nothing on our other hand and sprayed that one with water. The hand with the Advanced Night Repair did not drip! It was amazing to see that it actually holds in all the moisture, keeping your skin hydrated. We also learned how to do one of the best smoky eyes we've ever had. After makeup and a little touch up on our hair (this 90+ heat does havoc on our tresses), we were ready for our close up. Estée Lauder set up a fun photo shoot area where customers could get photos and actually take them with a great print out. They also emailed them so we can now have a glam new profile pic to add to Facebook.
Having the night come to an end was actually sad! Who knew we could have so much fun at a makeup counter. We left with some products we can't wait to try - Advanced Night Repair (so our face can be as gorgeous as our eyes), MagnaScopic Mascara, a Signature Eyeshadow Quad in Black Smoke (to perfect our smoky eye of course) and a gloss in Tempting Tearose. Let's just say we're Estee fans for life.
