Getting Exotic for Spring with Kohl's [Sponsored]

Spring is the perfect time to try new fashion trends. I always look at it like a fashion renewal.

I've already tried out the bold color trend and was now asked to try out spring's hot trend for exotics. Now, I've always been a big fan of animal print - leopard, zebra and cheetah (as long as it's done with a touch of sophistication), but this time I wanted to try something a bit different - snakeskin! It truly doesn't get more exotic than that and with the selection at Kohl's, picking out looks from this trend couldn't have been easier.

One of the biggest reasons I love shopping Kohl's is for the value. Not only are the price points great, but the Kohl's cash is fab (for every $50 you spend, you get $10 back in Kohl's cash for your next shopping trip)! And, if you have a Kohl's credit card (like I do), they're constantly sending out coupons for you to get even bigger deals from 15% - 30% off!

The quality of the garments are great, too. It makes me happy to know that I'll have something that will last a few seasons without breaking the bank. I always look for pieces that can take me to events. I want to look professional, yet on trend. So now that we've talked a bit about value, my style and the spring trend I'm going after, let's delve into what I bought.

At first glance, you may have thought I was showcasing the bold color trend, but I'm doing exotics! I picked up this gorgeous blue/teal reptile dress by Jennifer Lopez collection. What I loved about it was the bold color, the draped, asymmetrical neckline and the comfortable jersey fabric.

Apt. 9 Metallic Snakeskin Clutch is the perfect addition to my exotic outfit. You could really wear this with anything and look pulled together and I love that from afar, you can't really tell it's snakeskin so it doesn't look as if I went overboard on the trend.

And on to the shoes! I'm loving this color right now, so naturally I had to pick up this pair of coral heels by Candie's. Since color is so hot right now, I'm looking at it like it's a neutral. It actually paired very well with the blue/teal dress (to my surprise)!

I always believe in one big statement piece, so I'm loving this Apt. 9 Gold Tone Snakeskin Long Necklace. If you're going to go for a necklace like this, it's really all you need to complete the look. I also love that you need to do a double take up close to see that it's snakeskin! -Melissa Maynard
