Horacio Nieto

With the industrial EnVent Studio as a backdrop, Horacio Nieto showed the young and the fashionable why he is one of the biggest names in Chicago fashion at the moment.

Purple light decorated the walls and clean white seats were spread out over the entire venue for the crowd to enjoy Horacio Nieto’s Spring 2010 menswear and womenswear collections. The young designer is a breath of fresh air in the world of Chicago fashion with a conceptual but fresh perspective on the art of designing. For men, he brought us a spring assortment of colors. There were purples, yellows, different hues of blues, all mixed with a neutral palette of tans and whites. Tight fitted clothing came down the runway for men in various shapes. Straight blazers, shorter jackets, metallic vests, dress shirts in muted brights and metallic details on various garments made up for Nieto’s amazing men's show. Next up - the womenswear.

Nieto designs in a certain way that always keep the female body and its curves in mind. From flowing garments finished with metallic leopard print to tribal jewelry and prints – it was a show of extravagance. The colors included greens, oranges, yellows, blues and occasional purples, all in different hues. The collection was very young, fresh and new. Jumpsuits, blazers, draped shoulder jackets, belted garments, wide skirts, ruffled hemlines were all to be found in this very feminine collection.. The closing gold, triangle strapless mermaid gown was stunning!

Garretts Popcorn was available to the industry crowd and let’s not forget about the swag including the latest issue of Factio Magazine! The amazing night in fashion concluded with an Enclave after party.
