In early May, Chicagoans flocked to Scoop for a grand opening celebration. The stylish bash was hosted by Lindsey Gladstone of DailyCandy, Kelly Ryan O’Brien of Gen Art and the ladies’ dashing husbands. Guests were ushered into the stylin’ store on an oh-so-fancy red carpet. Despite chilly-for-May temps and a splattering of gloomy rain, partygoers optimistically dressed in breezy spring fashions; think floaty, flower-print dresses by Diane Von Furstenberg, short, bubble-hem skirts and metallic shoes.
Inside, guests were treated to pale blue Scooptinis and flutes of bubbly. Waiters circulated with temping appetizers like fresh sushi, brightly frosted cupcakes and squares of cheesecake. Peppy tunes from a live DJ kept the Scoop shoppers bopping as they perused the shop’s latest styles. Factio drooled over an eyelet lace dress by Michael Kors, ladylike Jimmy Choo heels and a collection of shimmering baubles in the store’s ultra-hip jewelry collection.
As they filed out into the rain, guests were cheered up with fabulous goodie bags stuffed with full-size, magnolia-scented products from Bliss, mint-flavored, shiny lip gloss from C.O. Bigelow and mini bottles of Grey Goose Vodka.
