Over 20 of the cities chicest gals enjoyed a private dinner party hosted by Gen Art’s Kelly Ryan O’Brien and Skirt PR’s Adrienne Eckert on July 12th. “Adrienne and I both came from working in Manhattan, and what we noticed that we were missing in Chicago was hanging out with powerful, smart women within our industry. We so often email with someone at length and never meet them in person, so we thought, why not start a monthly networking/hangout/take a load off night for Chicago "power girls," said Kelly Ryan O'Brien. "Our goal with hosting events like these are to give women in our industry an opportunity to talk to each other on an individual basis and find out who the people are behind the careers. It is an amazing thing that we can get all of these smart, creative, fascinating women together (especially considering the craziness of everyone's schedules)," noted Adrienne Eckert.
The social gathering made its part deux debut at O’Brien’s spacious Chicago loft and private rooftop deck where guests enjoyed an exquisite selection of hors' doerves by Blue Plate catering with favorites like Tuna and Watermelon Sashimi with Yuzu Aioli, Peanut Crusted Chicken on Cucumber and yummy Grilled White Shrimp with balsamic glaze and Blue Cheese Crumble on a crispy won ton chip with perfect pairings of wines. It girls who partook at the scene-of-the-fête included Allie Adams, the designer of the ever-so-chic line Doris Ruth, handbag designer Susan Fitch, Susanna Homan, who pens our favorite column-about-town Susanna’s Night Out, Andrea Schwartz, head publicist for Macy’s, Amy Zehren, the Regional Marketing Manager of Equinox Fitness, Kimberly Burt, brand Ambassador for Dom Pérignon , Abby Dunn, PR and Marketing Director for Active Endeavors, Korey Karnes, editor-in-chief of Chicago Social, Amy Blessing, Lucky Magazine editor and Gen Art’s Amanda Nosal and Chance Woodward (the only man of the night), among the fashionable hosts and several other notable gals. "After the second, "Dinner with the Chicago Gals" we know that we will continue indefinitely! What is better than swapping stories over a glass of champagne and some appetizers,?” added Kelly.
