Cecilia De Bucourt Makes Her Clothing Debut By Sara Smith
Model Cecilia De Bucourt, designs unique fashions for e-shop on CDB Inc. (www.cdbstore.com). Recently musical performer Jessica Simpson wore her signature "neo gypsy" hand-crocheted shawl on MTV. Since then Cecilia's designs have been a staple in Jessica Simpson's wardrobe and on the pages of many popular magazines.
Cecilia De Bucourt modeled for the top agencies for 15 years before she decided to move into fashion design full-time. Through out her career she has designed for Marciano, Guess, Arden B and her inventions occupy a wall at Barney's New York. She was recently featured in the October issue of VOGUE magazine wearing a dress of her design, overnight it became a must for fall.
The clothing collection has a niche in the fashion industry with her one of a kind appeal with dresses, skirts, tops, ponchos and particularly her shawls. Her clothing line can be recognized by its whimsical flair; with a touch of both elegance and playfulness. De Bucourt says her sense of style is influenced by music and dance. De Bucourt's dresses feature romantic layers with raw edge chiffon and tulle; she pairs many of her skirts with sexy corset tops that feature puzzle motifs, lacing or tie-die appeal. Cecilia's signature piece is a shawl that is hand crocheted in Argentina, where Cecilia was born, the styles of Argentina are known for their sensuous colors and versatility, and this is very evident in her one of a kind shawls. Each of her pieces is crafted by hand, often with a touch of hand painting or embroidery making her pieces truly unique. Even with all the meticulous details Cecilia includes in her line, the fashion sells for lower prices than many of her competitors.
In 2002 CDB Inc. was found and opened the on-line store just recently to create an outlet for De Bucourt's clothing line.
