(Chicago) Hermès hosted an invitation-only reception on Tuesday, May 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm to present the Fall/Winter 2004 Hermès collection designed for Hermès by Jean Paul Gaultier. This is the highly anticipated first collection designed by Gaultier for the internationally-renown fashion house. Gaultier is a master tailor and known as l’enfant terrible de la mode Francais.

Proceeds from the sales of the evening benefited Gallery 37. Founded by Chicago’s First Lady, Maggie Daley, Gallery 37 provides job-training programs for students in Chicago while creating visual, literary, culinary, performing, and graphic art under the direction of professional artists.

The evening reception was attended by nearly 100 women -- “dressed to the nines.” The event was held at The Arts Club of Chicago on a lovely spring evening and featured white wine and champagne, hors d’oeuvres such as black caviar canapés and oysters on the half shell. Top Chicago runway models were dressed in the stunning Hermès collection that arrived in Chicago directly from Paris. Kehoe Designs sprinkled the room with Hermès-orange single poppies rising from multiple elegant clear vases. Guests enjoyed watching the original Paris debut on a nine-foot plasma screen throughout the night.
