Amazing Grace
This summer trendy shoes began to literally grace the Chicago Bucktown neighborhood with their presence with the opening of Grace, a new shoe boutique. The store opened on August 3rd, at 1917 North Damen Avenue and features designer shoes and handbags. Grace boasts 15 shoe collections spanning from hard to find European labels to emerging Chicago designers. The owner, Kristi Ryan, said she selects shoes that are both classic and elegant. Grace has pieces from Anya Hindmarch, Cate Adair, London Sole and Missoni, along with many others. The shoes, ranging from about $200 to $900, are sure to become staples in many Chicago area wardrobes. The 1450 sq. ft. store effuses modern elegance with its troughed lighting, birch-lined walls and polished concrete floors. However, the shoes obviously are the focus as they are showcased on beautiful glass shelving. The boutiques’ design was the brainchild of Attila Demeter Architects who created an inviting environment pulling from calm and organic inspiration. Ryan explained that the name Grace has both personal nostalgia and applications to every woman. We think her gorgeous shoes can take customers one step closer
to grace.
