Bucktown gals in particular are biting at their manicured nails with eager
anticipation while awaiting the opening
of the Marc by Marc Jacobs boutique.
The iconic designer, who W Magazine recently revered as one of the most
influential players in fashion, is
opening his first Chicago boutique
between late 2007 or early 2008. The store, to be located at 1714 N. Damen Avenue, will carry clothing and
accessories for both men and women from the Marc by Marc Jacobs collection. The look of his collection is very much an
embodiment of Jacobs’s infamously intriguing style: a swaggering dichotomy of edgy, yet slightly restrained pieces. Case in point, the fall 2007 collection sent several models down the runway in short, but prim dresses consistently paired with dense-knit, over-the-elbow gloves, and topped off with berets. The soon-to-open boutique promises to satiate Chicago’s fashion forward palette.
