Prada's Private Holiday Party in Chicago
The who’s who of Chicago turned out en masse to the Prada Boutique at 30 E. Oak Street, Tuesday evening November 27th. The ebullient guests came in support of the not-for-profit organization Ounce of Prevention Fund, which works to give children born into poverty the means to lead successful lives.
The Gold Coast Prada Store generously hosted the coveted invitation-only event, filling its three-story boutique to the brim with benevolent and chic Chicagoans. Guests perused the labels’ luxury wears and must-have accessories; sales staff were on hand to aid with purchases. Prada graciously donated 10% of proceeds from the evening and those of the following day directly to an Ounce of Prevention Fund.
Habillees in a beguiling array of seasonal cocktail dresses Chicago’s fashion elite bared a bit of leg for the occasion. Sequins, gradation fabrics, wrap pieces and crimson were amongst the hot looks worn by the delectable female crowd perusing the boutique. The men were equally dapper in fitted jackets, metallic ties and snuggle-soft cashmere sweaters.
The sumptuous event had paparazzi galore and flashes lit up the soiree with pulsating regularity. On the second floor, lush notes flitted through the air, as a DJ mixed records and set the tone and flow to the evening with jazzy hip-hop and trendy tunes.
Invitees nibbled on adorable mini bite-size appetizers of mouth-watering layers; the cream cheese, rye, cucumber morsels were a massive hit. Gorgeous chocolates in white and dark with orange and coconut shavings satiated the sweet tooths at the event. Guests sipped on flavored martinis, prosecco and other libations.
Prada clearly has its feet firmly planted on the ground and in Chicago, as it helps sustain both the local fashion community and underserved populations.
