Roberto Cavalli for H & M

Everyone knew it was coming, but the waiting was agonizing. The heel tapping of the impatient fashion world, however; gave way to ravenous applause and accolades as ‘Roberto Cavalli at H&M’ was unveiled to throes of international press, celebrities and supermodels at a very, very sexy gala in Rome’s Salone delle Fontane.

The stage was set with a fantastic red carpet and a-listers to match; both Sharon Stone and Halle Berry were in attendance.  Helicopters circled overhead and paparazzi worked themselves into a tizzy photographing the stunning crowd.  Flashes of light from cameras popped into the night air, as did champagne corks. The exquisite guests raised their glasses of bubbly to the visionary style and old-world glamour of Cavalli and his partnership
with H&M.

The iconic designer walked the red carpet with his wife and was followed by models who showcased pieces from the ‘Roberto Cavalli at H&M’ party collection.  Cavalli’s famous silk, animal print dresses, sequined sheaths and an outstanding pleated gold lame dress, as well as fitted pants and jackets were amongst the collection standouts.  The menswear line was a dashing mixture of sharp suit and tux separates.

'The collection is built around a selection of Roberto Cavalli's favourite pieces throughout the years, of which many are made to wear on the red carpet. But Cavalli's fashion is not only about the red carpet but foremost about a positive and optimistic attitude. It's about enjoying the good things in life with large dose of fashion glamour', noted H&M's head of design Margareta van den Bosch.

We too are enjoying the good life with venerable and affordable style, thanks to Mr. Cavalli and H&M. Our glasses are raised.
