Hermés Celebrates: Columbian Ball
The Museum of Science and Industry's 27th annual Columbian Ball Trains, Planes and Intergalactic Travel was kicked-off by premier French fashion house, Hermés, on Thursday, September 6, 2007, at the 110 East Oak St. boutique. The cocktail party dovetailed with the Museum's coming October exhibit "Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination." The exclusive event included a preview of the Hermés 2007 fall prêt-porter collection. The standout pieces were exotic crocodile skin items and beautiful fur jackets, as well as, statement diamonds from the Hermés jewelry collection.
There were several notable guests in
attendance including David Mosena, the president and CEO of The Museum of Science and Industry, as well as, JB and MK Pritzker, Les Coney, Sean Conroy and Nora Daley Conroy and Shawnell Richie. A portion of the proceeds from the evening's sales was donated to the Museum of Science and Industry's 2007 Columbian Ball that benefits their annual fund. The annual fund helps finance interactive exhibits and science education programs for Chicago students.
