Brooklyn Industries
Seems like Jake Mooney of The New York Times was right – Brooklyn is becoming a national brand.Brooklyn Industries is finally venturing out of town, and founders Lexy Funk and Vahap Avsar have settled down in Chicago bearing storefront signs declaring, “We Come In Peace.” The 2,000-sq. ft. outpost has everything the urban New York brand became so famous for. The interior boasts sustainable and repurposed décor, and hand-designed wallpaper shows off old National Geographic pages. Indulge in all those ubiquitous graphic tees, plaid fedoras and messenger bags. But also save time to browse the rest of the funky
collection, like the cool Argos nylon jacket, the Borden shift dress, and the Industry canvas laptop bag that comes with a lifetime warranty. Brooklyn Industries is most famous for its use of the Brooklyn skyline and water tower, but watch for future collaborations with local artists to bring a Chicago twist to the New York native. Brooklyn Industries is located at 1426 N. Milwaukee Ave.,
