For Fall, think Mario Pinto
It may have been full-fledged summer outside with sky rocketing temperatures and hot seasonal sun, but on Thursday, June 21 it was simply fall inside as Chicago designer Maria Pinto debuted her fall 2007 collection. Known for her sumptuous clothing that moves with the body in a seductive flattering way, Pinto did not disappoint.
“Fall 2007 is about feminine seduction. This collection pays homage to a woman’s body, providing a mood and sensitivity to support all of her needs,” Pinto explained.
The flattering silhouettes and luxurious seasonal fabrics that Pinto used to create her captivating designs, were paraded down a runway by equally stunning models at an exclusive, invitation-only event at the soon-to-open Sepia restaurant located in the Fulton River District. Hosted by Michelle Obama (Yes, Mrs. Barack Obama)and other notable Chicago style-makers including Veronica Bridgewaters, Candace Collins Jordan, Jan Melk, Desiree Rogers, Maria Smithburg, Helen Melchior, and Julie Latsko the event allowed the favored designer to display her innovative fabrics, seductive styling, and design ingenuity.
Pinto, whose designs are available at Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue,
Barney’s New York, and Ultimo, has received (in addition to the following of fashionable women here in Chicago and across the country) many prestigious design and fashion accolades throughout her career including the Best of Fashion Award in 2000, and the Gold Coast Fashion Award in 1998, an award previously won by Anne Klein, Donna Karan, and Bill Blass.
Whether a show-stopping entrance, subdued sophistication, of everyday luxury is desired, Pinto, with her knack of transforming unusual fabrics into signature pieces, continues to provide with her fall 2007 Collection, a little something for everyone.
Despite the hot summer sun think cool, think fall, think Mario Pinto.
