The Art of Monique Meloche

Monique Meloche and Gen Art Chicago held a Collector’s Circle Private Tour and Reception event at Meloche’s top-ranked Chicago gallery, January 23rd. The event, a one-of-a-kind group show, brought together pieces from gallery represented artists. The work, showcased and curated by Meloche, bespoke of her own organic understanding of art’s raw power, as well as her avant-guard aesthetic.  One of many beliefs that set Meloche apart from other Chicago gallerists is her unrestrained belief in promoting her artists; and she isn’t afraid to take a gamble on unknown talent. She curates and promotes with complete humor and wit (not one to take herself or art too seriously, she once held a
tongue-in-cheek show titled, “I need something that will look good
over my couch.”)

Her represented artists compose a litany of different styles, including John Sparagana’s hand fatigued magazine pages of supermodels, limited edition screen prints by graffiti artist Dzine, large-scale, night-vision paintings by rising art world star Scott Stack, who was recently named one of the top eight artists to collect by Chicago Magazine.  Meloche’s gallery offers works at all price ranges and mediums, including video instillations, photography, watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings.

Meloche welcomed Gen Art members to the gallery with exuberance and an approachable passion for the arts that set the tone for the lighthearted evening.

Guests perused the gallery, sampled a variety of wines and chatted with two of the gallery’s artists, including Scott Stack.

Whether you’re a novice, or a seasoned art aficionado, no matter what your taste, or budget, you’re bound to find something at Meloche’s unpretentious gallery to covet for your personal collection.
