Hotel at Versailles

Have you ever dreamt of staying the night at Versailles and reliving some of Marie Antoinette's finest moments? We have. While you won't be staying in the palace, the Hotel du Grand Controle is close enough for us. The small outbuilding is the traditional home of the chateau’s treasures and will become a 23-bedroom luxury hotel. It will have views of the Orangerie and Ornamental lakes. Architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart built the building in the 1680s. The Belgian company Ivy International SA will renovate and satellite the building. The estimated cost of renovations is $7.3 million and the company will also pay Versailles an annual fee to lease the building. Also, the company is working on a similar project in the Brittany area of France. The hotel is expected to open at the end of 2011 and Factio couldn't be more excited to make that trip. -Damonica Boone
