Hollywood Style: Pegah Anvarian, fashion designer

The career of Los Angeles based designer Pegah Anvarian is a story that little girls dream of. From her days of learning how to sew at the age of six from her grandmother in Texas to touring the world with rock stars as a stylist, this LA designer has that true "it" quality.

Today, the Pegah Avarian collection is sold internationally and at some of the hottest boutiques on the east and west coasts here in the states. We caught up with Pegah of course to talk fashion, her style icons and of course where she shops....

FACTIO MAGAZINE: Who is the “Pegah Anvarian” woman?
PEGAH ANVARIAN: She is sophisticated and classic in her style but with a modern edge.

FM: Describe your signature style.
PA: Beautiful draped items that extenuate a woman's curves
and yet hides those problem areas.

FM: Do you have any style icons?
PA: Charlize Theron and Kate Moss

FM: Give us an inside look at your career as a fashion designer.
PA: When I first started designing it was more due with the fact that is a stylist I could not find what I was looking for, for my clients and was forced to design special items. The response was so overwhelming to my designs that a collection was born..................

FM: What tips do you give women when wearing your designs? Any Pegah rules as far as fashion is concerned?
PA: A woman should only wear clothes that make her feel sexy. One should never follow trends but use them as a tool to update their wardrobe with.

FM: What is your most memorable moment to date in your career?
PA: My first fashion show was so exciting - almost like a first kiss.

FM: What key fashion pieces do you always have in your wardrobe? What key pieces should every woman have in her wardrobe?
PA: Hermes accessories are a must - a good pair of black pants and a good black dress that make you feel sexy. Every woman should have lots of cashmere as a cashmere wrap or sweater is season-less.

FM: Which woman (past or present) has impeccable style and why (on an international level)?
PA: Kate Moss, she sets trends yet she very classic at the same time.

FM: What women in which city worldwide have the best style?
PA: The British and the French – they have an edgy sense of style that is never over done or over thought.

FM: What is your biggest fashion vice?
PA: Cashmere, Hermes accessories and Manolo Blanik’s!!!!

FM: What are your favorite shops worldwide?
PA: Dover Street Market in London is my favorite place to shop!!!

FM: What are your favorite places to travel?
PA: Traveling period! I believe it is essential to see the way others live and dress. And, what are you always on the hunt for to add to your wardrobe when at a new destination? Vintage couture!!!!!!

FM: Do you think money and style go hand in hand or can style never be bought?  Is it something you just have? PA: Style is something you have but you can buy style if you hire a stylist such as Rachel Zoe or Lisa Michelle Boyd. They can give you what you were born with out.

FM: What would people be most surprised to know about you?
PA: I am that crazy woman that will jump out of a car and rescue an animal……

FM: What tips would you give to people in general to be well rounded, balancing out life and a flourishing career? PA: Travel – eat what you love and laugh!!!!!
